Ignorance is bliss.
Except when it comes to the chemicals we put in our bodies.
If you’re convinced a medication is slowly killing you (or at least causing you minor discomfort), Yahoo! Answers and Erowid probably aren’t the best sources for objective data.
Thankfully, DrugCite fills the gap by providing a friendly interface to browse through medicinal side effects reported by patients to the FDA. Search results can be refined by patients’ age and gender and are presented in easy-to-read infographics.
Other features include charts showing how reported symptoms trend over time and at-a-glance profiles for each drug. You can even report your own adverse side effects to the FDA – but you’d be wise to use the Adverse Event Calculator first.
You wouldn’t want to be one of the people who reported “impaired driving ability” as a side effect of Ambien. (Gee, you think?)
