First there was the text message. Then the picture message. Now, thanks to Rithm, there’s the song message.
Rithm (a.k.a. Snapchat for music) is an iPhone and Android app that lets users privately send one another songs, either within the app itself or by SMS.
Tunes can be picked from various music services – iTunes, Spotify, Rdio, etc. – so there’s no limit to what you can send. And each message can include a picture, video, or dancing animated GIF.
It’s a simple idea, but it makes sense: Music, whether you’re tweeting lyrics or posting Spotify playlists to Facebook, is a powerful mode of communication. A piece of music can give new meaning to thoughts and moments you share with others.
