As everybody knows the three keys to any real estate transaction are location, location and location.
To help you find your way, use HotPads, a map-based real estate search engine that allows you to easily conduct location-based searches.
To get started simply choose what you’re looking for (they offer the option to look for homes for sale or rent as well as vacation properties and those in foreclosure). Then enter a location into the search bar.
From there you’re given a map that is dotted with house and apartment icons, laid out by their location on the map.
Hold your mouse over an icon for the basics (number of bedrooms, square footage, asking price) or click on the icon to be taken to the listing.
The proprietary map (unlike most such sites this one isn’t a Google Maps mash-up) allows you to add points of interest (think schools and public transport) and demographic info (like per capita income and population density).
It’s almost enough to make you consider the pain of moving again.
