There’s an old quote that reads, “Every dollar you spend is a vote for the kind of society you want to live in.”
That’s the big idea behind Sevenly, a shopping site focused on rethinking how we contribute to charities.
Every week Sevenly picks a worthy charity to sponsor and designs a t-shirt inspired by the cause. (You can see a list of past campaigns here.) For each purchase made during that seven-day period, the site donates $7 to the featured charity.
That may sound like a pittance, but it adds up. Campaigns routinely raise north of $20,000 (and as much as $150,000), and since their founding Sevenly has directed nearly $1.6 million to the charities they’ve worked with.
And the shirts? They’re pretty darn cool, to boot.
We don’t know about you, but we’re casting our votes with Sevenly.
